Aishwarya Rai Bachchan may be a global sensation, but she brings none of that stardom with her when she is home. Her sister-in-law, Shrima Rai, recently interacted with her followers using the ‘ask me a question’ feature on Instagram.
One fan asked Shrima, “How did you tell your kids their aunt (Aish) is so famous?” Her response is winning the internet. “That is never a topic in my house. She is Gulu Maami at home,” she replied.
Shrima is a fashion and lifestyle blogger, who won the Mrs India pageant in 2009. She is married to Aishwarya’s brother Aditya Rai and the couple has two sons, Vihaan and Shivaan.
Meanwhile, there were rumours that Aishwarya would be making a special appearance in Shankar’s 2.0. The filmmaker clarified in a recent interview, “Aishwarya is indeed a part of the script, but she doesn’t have a visual presence. There are multiple references to her character Sana, but she is not acting in 2.0.”
Aishwarya has signed Sarvesh Mewara’s Gulab Jamun, in which she will be paired opposite her husband Abhishek Bachchan. The last time the couple shared screen space was in Mani Ratnam’s Raavan (2010).
Speculation is rife that Gulab Jamun will go on floors by June or July next year. It is being said that the film will be shot over three months, with the first schedule kicking off in Mumbai. Abhishek had said at the India Today Conclave East 2018 that he was excited about sharing screen space with his wife Aishwarya after so many years. “It is a beautiful story. We both want to make the film. It is something we are very excited about,” he said.
